This level is for ages 10-12. Kids age 10 must either have 2 years of Minor League experience or earn a spot during tryouts.
The purpose of Little League is to teach kids more advanced baseball skills that will prepare them for playing the game at the upper levels. It is player pitch only, and includes strict pitch counts. This level also puts a strong emphasis on catcher skills and development as well as baserunning.
Little League is quite competitive. It includes stealing bases, and players may advance on passed balls and overthrows. Players may also reach first base on a dropped third strike.
Bats must be USA or USAAA certified, the barrel must not be larger than 2 3/4" and they may not be more than 33" long.
Coaches will determine practices for this league. Games will be at 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. Each team will play at least twice per week.
All games will be held at the Little League Field in Bennett Park. Practices may be held at the Little League Field in Bennett Park, the HCC baseball/softball fields, or Vic Power Park.
